Selecting your DC Cooling Fans
QwikFlow offers many models of DC Fans. These models range from 25mm to 172mm in size. CFM performance ranges from 1-300 CFM. In selecting a DC Fan you need to consider some of the following infomation You can also view our DC Fan ordering guide for more information.
DC Fan Power / Voltages available for DC Cooling Fans are 5V-12V-24V and 48 Volt.
Air Flow / Measured in CFM, (Cubic Feet per Minute) will determine the amount of heat dissipated from within a system or subsystem.
Speed / RPM/ Revolutions per Minute (Speed will effect noise levels)(Noise is measured in dba)
Noise / The rotation of the fan blade and movement of air, causes noise. (What acoustic noise level is acceptable?)
Size / DC Cooling Fans are avaible in many sizes and shapes. (How much space is available for a fan inside a system or subsystem.)
Wattage / The larger the fan, the more amperage is needed to operate. (What will the operating amperage be and how will it effect the system or subsystem.
Static Pressure / The intake, exhaust and componets inside the system effect the performance of the dc cooling fan. Pressure is created as air moves within a system. This measurement can vary depending on the restrictions within the sysytem. (Measured in mmH2O/ example: 0.12mm)
QwikFlow DC Fans are manufactured for top performance and reliability. Our fans have been engineered to provide cooling solutions for all electronic systems requirements. Please refer to our data sheets for all of the specifications described above.

What's the difference?
Cross Flow DC Blowers
Cross flow DC blowers are not average being that they have large surface airflow needs similar to what is found in appliances and air curtains. Air circulates several times through the blades before exiting the dc fan.
Cross flow DC blowers are suitable for both high flow and low pressure applications.
Centrifugal DC Blowers
Centrifugal DC blowers need a scroll to enclose the impeller in order to generate pressure. The air enters axially and is exited radially to create spot cooling. These dc blowers typically have a low airflow and high pressure. They are not as efficient as axial fans and the impeller is usually smaller as well.
