Selecting QwikFlow DC Fans

When selecting QwikFlow DC Fans , please refer to the QwikFlow DC Fans Ordering Guide located at the bottom of this page. In selecting your fan, you will need to consider the following criteria:

•  Voltage (5,12,24 or 48 VDC)

•  Type (Fan or Blower)

•  Size of Fan (example: 25mm x 10mm)

•  Airflow (example: 2.67 CFM) Low/Med/High Speed Available

•  Bearing Type (example: Ball Bearing/Sleeve Bearing)

•  Current Draw (example: 0.16A)

•  Static Pressure (example: 4.28 mmH2O) Static Pressure will affect CFM

•  Noise Level (example: 27.95 dba) RPM speed will affect noise level

•  DC Fans Motor Features (Resistance Protected/Auto Start/Thermal Speed Control/Alarm Output/Tachometer Output)

DC Fans

QwikFlow  manufactures  a full line of Brushless DC Cooling Fans. These DC Fans are widely used for the cooling of electronic devices. QwikFlow DC Fan series are available in many sizes ranging from 25mm to 254mm. QwikFlow DC Fans are furnished with either Ball Bearing or Sleeve Bearings. All models can operate with 5V, 12V, 24V or 48 VDC. QwikFlow DC Fan series meet worldwide safety requirements. Listings include UL, CUL, CSA, TUV, and CE. Also, some models are also available with VDE.

QwikFlow DC Fan series have motor protection such as Impedance protection and Reverse Polarity protection.  QwikFlow DC Fans also have options available such as Auto-Restart, Thermal Speed Control, Tachometer Speed Sensor, Locked Rotor Alarm and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). QwikFlow DC Fan series also can be IP Rated for dust proofing and water resistant DC Fan.

DC Fans - General Specification
The specification defines the basic requirements for a Brushless DC Fan provided by QwikFlow DC Fans. Information is provided by individual data sheets by model number. The latest revision of data sheet for these QwikFlow DC Fan products will be the most current specification.

Mechanical DC Fan
Dimensions: DC Fan dimensions are provided on individual data sheets. Each DC Fan model has an outlined drawing with measurement in millimeters (mm).

Housing: UL94V-0 Rated or Aluminum Alloy / Black Painted

Electrical DC Fan
Rated Voltage and Input Power: Specification shown on each DC Fan Individual Data Sheet
Tolerance: Speed +/- 10%   Current +/- 20% / Polarity Protected
Dielectric Strength: 1500VAC / 1ma for 1 second between housing and lead wire (+)
Insulation Resistance: Over 500M ohm between stator and lead wire (+) 500VDC

Environmental DC Fan
Operating Temperature:  -10 degree C to +70 degree C (RH 35-85%)
Storage Temperature: -40 degree C to +80 degree C (RH 35-85%)
Acoustical: Maximum noise level specified on each DC Fan individual specification sheet / Measured 1 meter from the intake side of DC Fan.
Life Expectancy: (25 degree C) Ball Bearing 50000 hrs. / Sleeve Bearing 30000 hrs.

Characteristic Definitions DC Fan
Power Input and Speed of DC Fan: Measured continuous at rated DC Fan voltage at an ambient temperature of 25 degree C.
Noise Level: Measurement inside a semi-anechoic chamber with background noise below 18 +/- 1 dba. Microphone is located 1 meter from the DC Fan on the intake side.
Air flow: Measurement by a double chamber. The DC Fan CFM value is recorded at nominal fan speed at 0 (zero) air pressure.
Static Pressure: Measured at rated voltage at 25 degree C.
Safety Approvals: UL/CUL, TUV, CSA, CE

Many QwikFlow DC fans are provided in custom housing design. Such different housing types were developed either as requested by customer or due to our self-innovation. Special options like Auto-restarting, Thermal Speed Control, Tachometer Speed Sensor Output, Lock Rotor Alarm Output, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Dust proof, and Water Resistant are available on request
